At St Oswald’s we offer a warm welcome to anyone who wants to come along. This page details the accessibility arrangements in place for people with specific needs.
Our main meeting area downstairs is fitted with an induction loop. If you switch your hearing aid to the T setting or the TM setting, you will be able to hear those speaking at the front without background noise or interference.
Large print service sheets and a large print copy of Mission Praise (the main hymnbook we use) are available at the back of the building as you arrive, for you to help yourself.
Our main entrance is accessed by a ramp and leads directly into the meeting area (see photo above). Double doors can be opened to accommodate wide wheelchairs.
Inside, all our seating is removable so a space can be made for your wheelchair within a row of seats, if you prefer to remain in it during the service. Equally the space between rows can be widened to accommodate walking frames or to provide more room to move along the rows.
If you need to access our upstairs hall, we have a stairlift fitted in the staircase nearest the main entrance. Please ask for more information if you would like to use this.
Toilet facilities: we have toilets on both the ground floor and the upper floor of our building.
